He is predeceased by his mother Beryl, father Roger and daughter Kimberly. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, daughter Kelli, son-in-law Robert, grandsons Alex and Connor and great granddaughter LunaGrace.
Ben was a Navy Seabee stationed on Grand Turk Island. After his enlistment he joined the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, retiring after 33 years as a detective. He was a Fort Lauderdale Naval historian with a passion for collecting military aircraft, memorabilia, and uniforms. He was a founding member of the Fort Lauderdale Naval Air Station Historical society. He was a member of the national Fraternal Order of Police, Association of Naval Aviation, Navy Seabee Veterans of America, Tailhook Association, and the Navy League. Ben will be forever missed by his family, friends, and colleagues as he takes his final journey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 5:00 – 8:00 at the Kraeer – Fairchild Funeral Home, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Benjamin’s funeral service will commence on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Lauderdale Memorial Park.
