just learned of bobby's death 2/8/25 and read the many comments left by his friends and family. we were neighbor hood friends way before each of us were married. we air boated together i only wish i could receive such beautiful comments as bob has gotten . rest in peace bob . dick schmelz.....toomaker1954@yahoo.com

I will always remember the day we went out on the airboat it was my first time and I had so much fun that day. He took me to his camp. 
When I was working for Lyft he was condemned about me doing that job.  That was something that was very special to me. 
My love goes out to the entire family because I know how his family meant to him.
He was so happy with his children, grandchildren and most of all his great grandchildren. And I know he watching over them.  And remember it most be a wonderful place in heaven because nobody has come back.  
And most of all his wife of 68 years together.

Bob liked to go to Weston Diner for breakfast every morning, He said he never had anyone to eat with, so I started to meet with him every Thursday. This became a ritual and lasted for several years. We talked about motorcycles and Harleys. He mentioned that he had a motorcycle years ago. I actually bought a Harley and started a trend in the family.  Greg got a Harley a few weeks later and then Bob spoke of wanting a three wheeler.  Learned a lot about the family and years later Jean started to join us in the mornings after Bob stopped driving. I will truly miss his company at Weston Diner on Thursday mornings,  My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Celebrating Mother's Day at one of Bob and Jean's favorite restaurants "Tropical Acres ". We also celebrated their 50th Anniversary and every Anniversary since. I am so glad I was able to share all these great times and memories airboating and water skiing with the Carroll family.  Oh, let's not forget CATFISH DEWEY'S, Bob's #1 favorite restaurant. Bob you will be truly missed. Love you so much!!!

This was 1989 at the Last Resort Camp in the Big Cypress Everglades. We spend the day scouting tracks and shooting Poppops custom black powder rifles.

Amazing days out on the Everglades with pop pop! I remember when pop pop and my dad would let me drive the airboat and I felt like I was on top of the world! 

My greatest memories are spending early morning and late night with nana and pop pop in Georgia. He loved to hunt and spend time with his family. He would hunt all morning and eat catfish with me all night. I’m proud to say I want to be a hunter just like my pop pop. Love you forever and always pop pop!❤️

Pop pop hadn’t been on a plane in decades due to a fear of the crash. He was more than willing to fly up to visit for my wedding in Ga. The flight got canceled and they still made the 13 hour drive all the way up to be there on my special day! This meant the world to me that he was able to attend. I love you and miss you pop pop 

Dad helping  me install windows for my house in Davie. He taught me so much about construction,  and I  started at  a very young age building forts, tree forts and even a camper on wheels. Taught me to weld and mechanics working on buggies and of course fencing for our horses. How do you put in words all the knowledge he has given me. Thank you Dad you will live on through what you have passed down.❤️

My deepest sympathies go out to Bob's family. I grew up with his son and knew the family quite well. Jean he is at peace now. Home with the Lord. Bobby and Greg he raised you to be the loving and caring men you are today. He will be missed by all of his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.  Prayers as you all transition through your grief.  

We have so many memories with my Dad. Summer trips, camping, fishing, hunting, airboating, horse back riding, how to run a ranch with many animals. He taught us how to be good men and how. work with our hands. He Love my Mom, his Sons, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.  Dad will be missed but our memories will live on in our hearts 💕
