OBITUARY

Boby, Dolly & Steve Mathew

On September 3rd 2019, Boby Mathew (47 yrs) and his beloved wife Dolly Mathew (41 yrs) went home to their heavenly abode. They were joined soon after by their youngest son, Steve (16 yrs) on September 4th.

Boby Mathew was born to K P Mathai and Sarakutty Mathai as their second child following his elder sister Beeba on May 3rd, 1972 in Kerala India. He was joined by a younger brother, Babu few years later. He was raised in Kothamangalam and completed his undergraduate education (B Tech in Mechanical Engineering) before moving to US and gained his MBA soon after. Boby was blessed with Austin in 2002 and 6 year old Steve in 2010. Although he faced incredible challenges in his life and rebuilt his life during a difficult season, his deep faith in the Lord led him until the end. He lived in Chicago suburbs for 10 years. He was married to Dolly and they were settled happily in Fort Lauderdale Florida for the last 10 years.

Dolly was welcomed into this world by her parents late P C Varkey and Lissy Varkey on Nov 11th, 1977 and was raised in Pune, India along with her younger sister Jolly. She completed her masters in Commerce and settled into married life and was blessed with Steve in 2003. Unexpectedly, she became a young widow when Steve was barely 5 months old. While working as a bank employee, living with her parents, she overcame all the challenges and proved herself to be a strong and independent woman who trust in the Lord.

Steve was lovingly absorbed in to the Mathew family in 2010, and became a much-needed brother to Austin and a beloved cousin. As an honor roll student, an avid and skilled basketball player, he dreamed to play for the NBA and hoped to become a dentist.

Boby is survived by parents Mathai and Sarakutty, son Austin, siblings Beeba and Babu. Dolly is survived by mom, Lissy and sister, Jolly. They will be dearly missed by many family members, cousins and friends.

I met Boby while working at Office Depot and grew to respect and appreciate him personally. Boby was a conscientious man, diligent worker and a trusted friend. While our relationship didn't extend beyond our working years together, I have always and will always be thankful for the times we shared. He will be missed greatly.

My deepest sympathy to all of his family, most especially his son, Austin. May God bless you with His solace and peace.
