
Bryan K. Simmons, beloved brother and partner, passed away on April 3 at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the age of 66. He was born on November 15, 1958, in Richlands, Virginia, the son of Loretta and Bernard R. Simmons.
A self-taught acrobat, Bryan amazed everyone with his gymnastics and musical talents. He began piano lessons with Mrs. Heron of Richlands and showcased his exceptional abilities at recitals. His singing flourished in his grandfather's church, moving audiences deeply.
After high school, Bryan studied music theory and piano performance at Southern Wesleyan University in South Carolina. He performed at local venues in Richlands and later in Pittsburgh, where he sang at the renowned Holiday House on a stage formerly performed on by legends such as Tony Bennett, Dolly Parton, and Frank Sinatra to name a few. His career continued in New York City and Los Angeles.
Bryan was known for his charm, love for family, and dedication to caring for his mother.
Now, Bryan sings in a celestial realm, having been called home by God. He is survived by his partner, Scott Hall; his siblings Bernetta Simmons, William Simmons (Clara Dye), and Alisa Simmons-Snapp; and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 1 at 2:00 PM at the Country Club of Roswell, Georgia, to honor his vibrant spirit and legacy.
