Christopher Jamal Anthony Simpson was born on November 2, 1998, in North Miami, FL, to proud parents Christinna and Courtney Simpson. He brought so much joy and warmth to all those who were blessed to know him. He was a natural born leader and he always lit up a room with his beautiful smile.

The Fountain of New Life Church served as his church home where he was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He gave back to his church community by volunteering at various events earning numerous service hours. Christopher was the recipient of the Miami Dolphins Foundation 2015 “Volunteer of the Year” award.

Christopher had a passion for sports, especially basketball and football. He enjoyed football more and had the opportunity to play for Ives Estate at the age of 8 years old. He also played for Miami Central Senior High School.

Christopher believed he could achieve anything he put his mind to and graduated with Miami Central Senior High School’s class of 2017. He was employed with Federal Express prior to his illness.

Chris, you were called home to be with our Lord and Savior too soon. Now you sit at the right side of the Lord as one of his Angles looking down on your family and friends. We are comforted knowing that you are in the arms of our savior.

Chris, we will forever miss you and words cannot express how much we love you.

Christopher is survived by his Parents - Christinna and Courtney Simpson, Sister - D'Andre Paul; Brothers - Julius Chase, Juel (Vanessa) Chase. Great Grand-Mother - Monique Francois Grand-Parents - Hubert and Viviene Simpson; Saintilia and Yliones Paul. Aunts - Ann Marie Manning, Gina Paul, Germanie Paul, Geraldine Paul and Kelissa Paul. Uncles - Louiness (Arleen) Paul and Benneth Paul. Nieces - Olivier and Camilla Chase. Nephews - Dion and Deondre Tisdale. Godparents - Cassandra Moo, Jinell Timothee, Robert Edwards, Otis Rankine. A host of Family and Friends.

A visitation for Christopher will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home South, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Davie, Florida 33317. A visitation will occur Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Jesus Ministries Church, 8700 Miramar Parkway, Miramar, Florida 33025. A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Jesus Ministries Church, 8700 Miramar Parkway, Miramar, Florida 33025. A burial will occur Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens South, 2401 Davie Road, Davie, Florida 33317.

Biography

If there was ever a person who wanted to heal all the wrongs in the world, it was Christopher Jamal Simpson. He was an idealist who sought to bring harmony to those around him. Even though "Chris" was enthusiastic and generous, it was sometimes difficult for him to boast about his accomplishments. "Chris" had strong personal convictions, making it hard for him to relinquish those ideals he held dearest to himself. Despite his outer strengths and beliefs, "Chris" sometimes struggled in his efforts to see the world as completely positive. "Chris"'s life motto was always to hope for the best and work hard towards that end, but be prepared for some of life's disappointments. This philosophy was a continual driving force in his life, but it did not extinguish the bright light that defined the dreamer in "Chris", something that was always there and that he readily shared with everyone around him.

      "Chris" was born on November 2, 1998 at Parkway General Hospital in North Miami, FL. His parents were Christinna and Courtney Simpson. "Chris" was raised in Miami, FL. As a youngster, "Chris" demonstrated an excellent vocabulary and command of language. He was a compassionate person, a quality that he would carry with him throughout his life. Even at a young age, "Chris" was sensitive to his parents’ moods and worked hard to please them and live up to their expectations.

      Throughout his life, "Chris" showed a remarkable ability to mend relationships. This was true even with his siblings. "Chris" was caring, diplomatic and tolerant of the feelings of those around him. "Chris" was raised with three other siblings. He had one older sister D'Andre and two older brothers Julius and Juel. "Chris" was constantly involved in activities with his brothers and sisters. "Chris" and his siblings had the typical rivalries while growing up, but they cared deeply for one another.

      As a young boy, "Chris" lived a childhood filled with fantasy. He was generally in pursuit of his own identity, but he was also adaptable to almost any situation he faced. "Chris" took part in Football. In his spare time he liked playing video game, playing football and basketball. "Chris's memorable achievements included. However, to "Chris", the most fun to be had was simply playing, and spending time with his many friends.

      High school was a time for "Chris" to seek out knowledge. He enjoyed learning and had a natural interest in gathering information. "Chris" had a flair for the poetic and was very expressive and articulate, especially when it came to his writing. "Chris" took his education seriously. He graduated from Central Senior High School in 2017. He enjoyed some courses more than others, having favorite classes and teachers. His favorite classes in high school was Math and Science. In addition to graduating high school, he will be remembered by classmates for having won first prize in the Science Fair.

      While those who did not know him well found "Chris" to be somewhat reserved until they got to know him, he was an authentic and devoted friend. "Chris" was a tranquil person, with an easygoing and open-minded attitude towards life. He presented a pleasant face to the outside world but concealed the pain and discomfort he felt over his own friends’ difficulties. "Chris" sought to achieve harmony with everyone and possessed the ability to mend conflicts and avoid interpersonal struggles. While growing up, some of his best friends were Deondre St. Louis.

      The desire for romance was always present in "Chris"'s life. His deep loyalty and a strong commitment to his vows brought a sense of completeness to their marriage.

      "Chris" was a gentle person who held deep feelings for his nephews. He enjoyed having fun with his nephews and was at times fiercely protective of them. "Chris" showed great empathy in his willingness to give every family member a voice in family decisions.

      Blessed with a strong sense of integrity, "Chris" was as loyal and committed in his work as he was in the rest of his life. "Chris" worked well with fellow employees and showed great cooperation in reaching common goals. Though he had a tendency to take on too many tasks, himself; "Chris" showed great patience with complicated situations. He was ingenious and trusted his intuition. For "Chris", the application of logic could be optional, and while that sometimes bothered his co-workers, "Chris" always seemed to be able to get the job done. He was most comfortable working on the projects and jobs that he strongly supported. His primary occupation was mail handler. He was employed for Fedex. "Chris" always tried to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.

"Chris" saw action for. "Chris" was extremely loyal, and that was a quality that others noticed and appreciated.

      Christopher Jamal Simpson was someone who was able to see the world as a good and honorable place. He viewed the people who inhabited it as essentially good. A person who tended to see the world in terms of black and white, "Chris" tried to focus on the good he saw, knowing that there were times he would have to compromise. He was selfless and deeply committed to all things positive and good. "Chris" was a person who would keep his eye on tomorrow and constantly held onto his dreams. He was capable of being mystical at times, and he could be the seer or shaman of a group. It was this exceptional insight and quiet reserve that that became "Chris"'s trademark qualities for all who knew him, and it was one of the many reasons why all who knew him loved Christopher Jamal Simpson.
