

Born March 19, 1928 in Lewiston, PA. to Ellsworth J. Byers and Evelyn A. Bennett-Byers. Clayton was predeceased by his Mother Evelyn Bennett Hockenberger and his step-father Glen Hockenberger, his brother Jack Byers, his son Clayton Henry Byers, Jr. and a stepson Ronald Michael Fulton.
Clayton is survived by his ex-wife Shirley Evans Byers, a daughter Sharon Byers Crow, sons Theodore and Kenny Byers, his grandchildren Steven Crow, Jason Byers, Ann Marie (Daniel) Kennedy, great-grandchildren Daniel Kennedy, Logan Byers, Courtney and Katlin Kennedy and Morgan Byers.
Clayton attended Lincoln High School in Canton, OH and worked for Republic Steel in Canton for 20 years. Clayton also served as a volunteer firefighter for Richville Township and worked on many Richville community projects.
Clayton was an avid outdoorsman , fisherman, and hunter for many years and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Canton, OH and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Clayton moved to Florida in 1964 Additional surviving family members include his wife Eleanora F. Byers; Stepdaughters Debra Fulton (Dr. Michael), Mekjian, Penny (Michael) Fulton; Step-grandchildren Kelli (Jean Paul) Ochoa, David (Melissa) Mekjian, and Nicole Oakerson. Step-Great-grandchildren Kristian Rivers, Marie and Sierra Platel, Alexander and Emily Ochoa, and Jaxson Mekjian.
Clayton was in the fumigation business both in Tampa and Ft Lauderdale until his retirement. Clayton also served as President of the Homeowners Association in his condominium complex. Clayton departed this life on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the age of 86.
Funeral services for Clayton will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 Crypt-Side at 11 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Ray Wherenburg officiating. Entombment will follow.
