David L. Short Sr. " Big Dave " .

David L. Short Sr., "Big Dave" age 76, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. David was born October 27, 1947 in Endicott, NY to Archie and Alene Short. He was the beloved husband of Linda Villella Short for 56 years and the devoted father of David Jr. (Stacy) and Nicole (Troy). He was also a cherished grandfather to Cody, Austin, Savanna, and Brianna, and brother of Walter (deceased), Archie II (deceased) Dennis (Mona), and Dale (deceased). He was beloved by countless nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues who viewed him as a father.

Throughout his remarkable life, David L. Sr. was dedicated to his work and his family. For an astounding 62 years, he was a loyal employee and owner of Gold Coast Crane Service, where he poured his heart and soul into every job. His commitment, expertise, and work ethic were unparalleled, leaving an indelible mark on the company and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Beyond his professional achievements, David Sr. was a loving and devoted family man. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, creating memories that will be remembered forever. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and love to all.

David Sr. will be always be known for his kindness, generosity, unwavering support for his family and friends, and for those who knew him well enough, his sharp wit. His legacy of hard work, integrity, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

The celebration of David's life will be held March 1st and March 2nd:

The viewing will be Friday, March 1st, from 5-9pm at Forest Lawn in Davie in the main building.

The funeral will be Saturday March 2nd at 10am at Nativity Church in Hollywood; we will return back to Forest Lawn for the entombment.

May his soul rest in peace, he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
