Dorothy A Holt

Dorothy Anne Holt (nee Leahy), 91, of Davie, Florida, passed away on August 11, 2022 in Wellington, FL. after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. A person of true character and love. A thoughtful soul, who will be forever missed by all that knew her.

Dorothy was born in Canton, Ohio to Joseph M Leahy and Elfriede Schmidt on July 28, 1931. She grew up there and married Joseph L Holt in 1953. They raised a family of four boys together. After relocating to Florida, she embarked on a professional career, receiving an Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming from Broward Community College. After our dear father passed away, she worked for many years in the field of pension administration, and as lead Pension Administrator for both the cities of Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale. In these positions she managed the Employee Pension asset portfolios and automated their pension systems. After she retired, she volunteered for both Senior Net, an organization that helped senior citizens learn basic computer skills, and as a Florida Gaurdian ad Litim, a position that focused on a Guardianship type of legal representation for children that cannot make decisions for themselves.

It is for all these reasons, and so many more that we love her.

Dorothy is survived by 3 sons, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
