Ecberto Isidro Vera Zamora (EC), 65, of Davie, Florida passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 13, 2025. EC was a proud Marine, devoted grandfather (papa EC), father, son, brother, friend, and a man whose spirit never stopped moving forward.
EC was born on April 25, 1960, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to Eduardo Hermógenes Vera Vera and Cristina Eugenia Zamora Piza. From the beginning, he carried a strong sense of determination, curiosity, and heart that would define his life and touch everyone who knew him.
EC is survived by his four loving children, five grandchildren, siblings, and longtime partner: Crystal Vera (DeShawn & Miguel), Monica Vera-Jackson (JJ, Leo, & Catalina), Vincent Vera, and Christina Vera; Isabel Garcia, Magdalena Bazyluk, Jose Agustin Vera, Ketty Hill, and his beloved late brother José Leocadio Vera Mendieta; Daysi Pereira, and her children, Steven and Kayla. He also leaves behind many other cherished family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives he deeply impacted.
At just three years old, he suffered the loss of his mother and experienced a prolonged hospitalization and period of isolation – an early hardship that shaped his resilience and strength. EC learned the importance of perseverance at an early age, and he did not allow life’s challenges to keep him down or get in the way of his goals.
EC migrated to the United States with his sister Ketty on September 21, 1975 to join their father after being separated for 3 years. He attended Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD. At age 16, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he completed specialized aircraft firefighting training and embraced the discipline and values of service that followed him throughout his life and career. After his military service, he focused on supporting his family – a responsibility he did not take lightly and embraced the responsibility with pride. EC continued his education and earned his associate degree, further strengthening the foundation for his professional and personal life. As he became established, EC helped bring other family members to the United States, welcoming them into his home and ensuring they had food, shelter, and support as they found their footing.
With a sharp, analytical mind, EC excelled as a Finance Manager – able to look at numbers and instantly see what others could not. His attention to detail allowed him to be a renaissance soul in all things in his life. EC approached every challenge with focus, grit, and an unshakable work ethic.
EC brought a positive and infectious spirit that brought light and joy into every room he walked in, especially when it came to his Nissan work family. He had a deep appreciation for music of all kinds, and loved dancing, joking, and laughing – his laughter deep, full, and unforgettable.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, EC embraced life fully. He formed many meaningful relationships and friendships, each contributing to the man he became. He loved cars and working on his own vehicles, especially exotic and muscle cars. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, collecting and watching movies. A protector by nature, EC extended his care not only to people, but also to animals. He had a deep love for animals and a soft spot for them, always treating them with patience and love.
EC was a kid at heart, always curious, playful, and full of life. He never gave up, no matter the obstacle. If you told him to jump, he would simply ask, “How high?” He lived with forward momentum, resilience, and purpose, inspiring those around him to do the same.
Above all, EC treasured time with his children and grandchildren. He was a protector, a provider, a teacher, and a friend. He was not only a father but he was also a best friend – a constant source of love, guidance, humor, and strength.
EC will be remembered for his resilience, noble heart, unwavering integrity, analytical brilliance, generous spirit, and the way he always made sure everyone around him was okay. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went and could talk for hours, sharing stories, wisdom, and laughter.
Ecberto Isidro Vera Zamora lived with humor, courage, and love. His legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren, those he helped, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of your family and friends. Once a Marine, always a Marine.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, located at 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33317, US. On January 31, 2026, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
