Elizabeth Julia Van Vliet

Elizabeth Kennedy Van Vliet passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the age of 94. She died peacefully in her sleep at the house she shared with her husband and family of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren since 1964. She was a woman of uncommon grace, dignity, faith and humor. She had three abiding loves in her life. Her husband, Charles. Her family. Her faith. Her gentle kindness and generosity of spirit provided an example to all who knew her of how to be the best person you can be. She is at peace now with her late husband Charles, and her dear son Matthew, who passed before her.

She is survived by her children, Charles (Pamela) Van Vliet Jr., Ann Malani, Theresa (Dale)Van Vliet-Wolfe, and her daughter-in-law Gina Van Vliet; her grandchildren, Daniel (Elizabeth) Van Vliet, Charles (Melissa) Malani; Jennifer Van Vliet, Robert Malani, and Sean (Amy) Tucker; and her great grandchildren, Drew, Maya and Matthew Malani.

She will be sorely missed.

The family will welcome Friends at Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 4061 N. Federal Hwy., Ft. Lauderdale, FL. on Thursday, June 20th, from 4 to 8pm, with a prayer service at 5:20pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 21st at 11am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4595 Bayview Dr., Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, N.
