Ellen Friedman

Ellen is survived by Phyllis Docchio, her partner of 34 years, of Margate, FL, sister Carol Kaufman and husband Bill of Margate, FL, Daughter Marci Kleinsasser and husband Brad, and granddaughters Hayley and Sydney of Parkland, FL, Daughter Tara Okonski and husband Bill of Huntsville, AL, Daughter Chrissy Acevedo and husband Ramone, and granddaughter Amber and grandson Shawn of Tamarac, FL, son Frank Docchio of Lake Worth, FL and granddaughter Michelle Docchio of Boynton Beach, FL. She is also survived by too many close friends to name who loved her dearly. Ellen is preceded in death by her father, Leanord Palent, of Maplewood, NJ, mother, Pauline Palent of Margate, FL and sister Judy Palent of Coral Springs, FL.

Ellen was born on March, 10, 1942 in Irvington, NJ to Leanord and Pauline Palent. She graduated from Weequahic High school in Newark, NJ. Ellen worked in the medical field for over 30 years. She loved butterflies, but most of all, her friends and family.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a memorial service to directly follow at 1:00 pm in the Pyramid of Forest Lawn Funeral Home South in Davie, Florida. Ellen will truly be missed.
