Emilio was born in Havana, Cuba in 1950 and raised in Isle of Pines, Cuba. He immigrated to the United States in 1959 at the age of nine. He was a longtime resident of Pompano Beach, Florida and graduated from Pompano Beach High School in 1969. Upon graduation, Emilio began a 41 year career with Southern Bell from which he separated in 2009. He enjoyed working in his backyard cultivating his fruit trees, the bounty of which he shared with the family. Throughout his life Emilio had dogs as companions including his beloved dog, Rocky.
Emilio married Sandy (nee Saundra Frances Cook) Rodriguez on August 5,1972 and they had two beautiful children, Christopher and Jennifer, who he treasured. Emilio’s most cherished role was that of grandfather to Kai, Dylan, Madden, Deacon, Ava and Patton. One of Emilio’s favorite outings was to take his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews for ice cream at the local Dairy Queen.
Emilio will always be remembered for his generosity and the way he was always there if you needed him. We will miss him every day and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
