Bunny Edwards (later Banga) was one of our beloved Bogue boys and his laugh, and his genuine care for those around him, were special. Firstly let me say condolences to the family and loved ones. We all like to think we have all the time in the world forgetting we are operating on God's time. "Bunny" was there for me as a young man in California many moons ago. I was in a dark place in my life and he came to the rescue like some others may have experienced. I have always wanted to say thank you to him in person but procrastination robbed me of that opportunity. Again let me say thanks to a great and wise man. If he could hear me now he would definitely "ded wid" laugh!

I am saddened by this news of Banga " Bunny" Edwards leaving us. I had fun memories of playing football with his in the rain on the main field at Cornwall.  He introduced me to field hockey and he was always laughing and smiling.  RIP BANGA!

Where do I begin to summarize all the years this man has been in my life. From mi a likkle pickney in nah Jamaica. Banga told me one day he came by the house to visit Marlene when we lived in Mobay to  hangout some. He said as he was driving and almost reach the bottom of the road, he realized he had a stowaway in the back of his car, nah me😁. “I didn’t remember doing that.” But that tells you that he was someone I liked and trusted or mi just was bad😉.  Bunny is amazing with little people so I can see me leaving with him. 
I’m still in disbelief that Banga is not here with us. I’ve experienced one loss last year that I’m still trying to wrap my head around. The loss of my son Amir and now to try and wrap a second loss around my head, I can’t accept either one right now. This was so sudden and out of nowhere why it’s so difficult to handle. Banga had a personality on him that everyone who knew him loved him. That deep Barry White loud voice of his, you can hear him at times when I call Marlene. He would be way outside near the pool or anywhere and I could still hear him like he was right next to her. Mr. Edwards is a man that could cook especially his famous jerk pork. No matter the occasion Banga had that covered. Don’t let me start pond im zucchini and mango bread. Whatever he was making, or baking it was amazingly delicious. He was such a handsome, funny, kind, giving, no nonsense, sweet and loving man.  Words cannot express how much I will miss you. No more morning inspirational text messages. Each one uplifted me through the days. It was as if it was coming from his mouth. He always had my back and good advice to share with me. I know you’re together with Ms. T, Pam and Amir. Gone too soon from us. Marlene is in good hands. Rest In Peace. Until we meet again. Loved you like cooked food especially the ones you prepared. May God continue to shine and Bless the rest of us here on earth, because you have a seat at the table.

I first met Errol about 15 years ago at a birthday party for my uncle.  Then I met him again 2 years  ago when I moved to Florida. From the very beginning, Errol was very warm and welcoming to me. I soon came to realize their house was the place to be on Friday nights, and he always told me I never needed an invitation to come over. 
We joked about him having the same name as my brother, except he had 2 'rs' while my brother's name had 1 but I didn't hold that against him.  
He introduced me to zucchini bread which I fell in love with and will miss. But most of all I will miss him and the smile he always had on his face.  
Rest in God's comforting arms Errol, knowing you will be missed. I pray God's Blessings and comfort for your family.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and your family  during this difficult time.

I grew up with Bunny’s mom (affectionately called “Aunt Linda”) in Brooklyn as she was one of my mom’s closest friends.  Aunt Linda introduced me to Bunny and Marlene after moving to Florida over 20 years ago and Bunny and Marlene were always warm and affectionate towards me every time we crossed paths.  

I think what amazed me the most were the long-lasting and close-nit friendships Bunny had with so many.  I loved to see Bunny and his friends  just sit around for hours talking, laughing and enjoying one another, and I loved listening to their  stories. It was so obvious how much he was loved and appreciated by all.

My deepest condolences to Marlene and the rest of the family.  Bunny’s laugh and warm personality were infectious and he will be missed tremendously by everyone that knew and loved him. 

I pray that God will continue to strengthen you all during this very difficult time. Love and blessings always.

Bunny was truly one of a kind, a man with a kind, welcoming, and generous heart who always made sure everyone around him was taken care of and having a wonderful time. His smile, laughter, and warm spirit could light up any room.

No one could make jerk chicken like Bunny. For years I asked him for his recipe, and with that jovial smile he’d always say, “I guess you’ll have to keep visiting us to get the chicken.” That was Bunny,, always ready with a joke, a chuckle, and a way to make people smile. I can see him smiling even now, Bunny will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bunny had a rare way of making a stranger feel like an old friend within minutes. It didn't matter who you were or where you came from. What you drinking? he echoed as to say you can now relax, you are in the presence of Banga's hospitality.  He listened without judgment, helped without being asked, and gave the kind of warmth that stayed with you long after he left the room. While our hearts are heavy, we are all better people for having been in his orbit. He taught us that being "the kindest person in the room" is one of the most powerful thing that can be. Personally, I have benefitted from his friendship and kindness in a lot of ways too many to mention here .

One of our school colleage described him as 'everybody's friend' which he truly was.

Today we say farewell to my dear high school friend, Errol “Banga Bunny” Edwards.
Banga was more than a friend — he was the bridge that connected so many of us back to our roots, our classmates, and the memories we shared through the years. If you were looking for an old school mate or trying to reconnect with someone from long ago, Banga was our “411.” Somehow, he always knew where everyone was and kept the spirit of friendship alive among us.

His passing leaves a deep void, but we take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved Mother and Sister in heaven. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the laughter, conversations, and the countless ways he kept us all connected.

Your voice, your kindness, and your dedication to keeping old friendships alive will never be forgotten.

I can't remember a time when I didn't know Banga! I guess I could if I went back far enough but as a young teen, Bunny, Banga whose name I only learned later in life as an adult, was friends with my eldest sister and her friends and therefore a part of my life. 
A funnier, nicer guy is hard to find. Though I was much younger, he always treated me with kindness and the certain respect he seemed to have for everyone regardless of age. 
In my adult years, he became a friend. We would see each other at Mt. Alvernia and Cornwall College events and reason. Just before covid , my husband and I lived near Bunny and Marlene and their home was where the Friday night lyme happened, every Friday night. Those are the memories I treasure most. Great food (i always brought store bought because I worked all day) but Banga cooked and yeah - dat man could cook! 
Marlene, you are one of the fortunate ones to have shared your life with such a wonderful person.  We all know he felt the same - he was fortunate to have you. Your daughter is twice blessed to have been raised by two beautiful people. Banga, Bunny, you will never be forgotten. Your smile, your bellyful laughter, your wit, your generosity, your lovely spirit lives on... selah

Daddy, I still don’t know how to accept a world that exists without you in it. Losing you feels like losing a part of my heart, my soul, my support, and my safety.

I keep replaying memories in my mind, trying to relive so many moments — listening to your stories, learning about family, calling to ask, “Daddy, how do I make this?” or just riding in the car with you while you played all your old tunes, giving me that crazy look while bobbing your head.

I appreciate you so much for every sacrifice you made, every lesson you gave, every life you impacted, and every piece of yourself you poured into the people you loved. I’ve always been so proud to say you were my daddy — your one and only. A true legend and hero to many, and knowing that gives me peace, understanding, and strength to carry on.

No matter where life takes me, my heart will carry your name, your voice, your laughter, everything you taught me, and the way you loved me and as you’d call them “the two terrorists” your grand daughters in your own special way every single day for the rest of my life.

No words could ever fully explain the love I have for you or the tremendous pain that comes with having to say goodbye. But your spirit and your memory will live on forever. Until we meet again.
