Fausta Yolanda Anta

December 19, 1933September 3, 2019

Fausta (Yolanda) Anta, 85 years old, died on Tuesday, September 3rd 2019 at 9:30pm. She is now home in Heaven. Yolanda married to her lifelong partner and best friend, Antonio Anta (Tatin), on December 3rd 1961. She was born in Ciego De Avila, Cuba and moved to Havana, Cuba when she got married. She has spent the last 50 years of her life living in Wilton Manors, Florida in the same home.

Yolanda loved her family and friends. She was a dedicated wife, mother, abuela and daughter to her parents till the day they died. Her passion was her family and her church. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She could sure talk your ear off. You would just sit there and listen because you couldn't get in a word edgewise.

Besides her family, God was the most important thing to her and God knew it. When she prayed He always listened. Everyone would ask her to pray for them and she always did. She prayed for everyone every day. She was an active member of the youth Catholics in Cuba. An active member of St. Clement and St. Henry's Church. A Eucharist minister at church and she counseled many parishioners for many years.

She also belonged to many organizations in South Florida. Yolanda had a passion for reading. For many years she belonged to local Book Clubs and always had a book, a Bible or/and prayer book in hand. She also belonged to her beloved Cuban American Club in Pompano Beach where she made lifelong friends.

When we think of Yolanda we also remember her cooking. OMG her cooking, we all knew she was the best cook, that's why no one else in the family cooks, you can't live up to her. When you got her going on recipes you could not shut her up. She would recite every recipe she knew (and there were many). The only way she would listen is if you gave her a new recipe she could make.

She also enjoyed sewing, watering her plants, flowers and going to the beach. She worked at Maus and Hoffman on Las Olas and a seamstress for many years and also had a sewing room at the house for her customers. If you want something to talk to her about other than recipes talk to her about her plants. She knew what soil to use, how much to water and how much light the plant needed. And then there were flowers. She loved to receive flowers! They brightened her already bright face. Like she always said; "Give me all the flowers you want while I am alive not when I have passed". Her favorite vacations were at the beach surrounded by family. Even though she could go vacation any where she wanted she would always prefer to just rent at the beach and be surrounded by her children, grandchildren and family...

There will be a Mass to celebrate Yolanda's life to be announced.
