

Dr. Flossie Beatrice Womack was born January 17, 1937 to Milton Banks and Flossie Banks in Macon Georgia. She dedicated her life to Christ as a youth and remained a devoted Christian. Dr. Womack received her formal education at Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach Florida. There she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Special Education. She soared within her career and obtained her doctorate in Administration at Nova Southeastern University.
A TIME TO WORK
As a professional educator, Dr. Womack was passionate about teaching youth. She devoted her time to students teaching them the fundamentals of literacy. She became employed as an educator with Broward County Public Schools. Her accomplishments included many awards and accolades. She was privileged to severe her entire career at one school, formally known as Everglades Middle for 42 years. After a successful teaching career she retired in 2008 from the School Board of Broward County Public Schools.
A TIME TO GIVE
During her college years she pledged and became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho, Inc. She continued her service as a member of the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of Delta Epsilon Sigma. Her dedication and active service was driven toward the enhancement of women. Her commitment of community service, civil and social action was upheld as a member of Sigma Gamma Rho, Inc. She also served as a member of the NAACP, an Alumni Member of Broward County for Bethune Cookman University, an avid supporter of the Girls Scouts and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
A TIME TO REST
Dr. Flossie Beatrice Womack was called to rest on March 5, 2017. Dr. Womack leaves to cherish her memory; Children- James Brooks, Rodney Womack, Tanyka Womack (Branden, Mekiah and Oniya) Grandchild- Kaliyah Graham, Sister- Laura Laverne Hill (Timothy and Terralyn) along with a host of extended family and friends.
