Mrs. Young was born on November 13, 1926 in Key West, Florida to Laurence and Adelaide Crabtree. Mrs. Young was proud of her “Conch” heritage and grew up with a love of the water. Her Father, Larry was one of the first Tug boat Captains on the New River with his Tug Boat “The Hustler.” Mrs. Young and her second husband William B. Young were fortunate enough to have traveled the world. They had homes in Ft. Lauderdale and Highlands, NC. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale and a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

She was preceded in death by her second husband William B. Young and her sister, Dorthy Snow. Mrs. Young is survived by her devoted children, James Laurence “Larry” (Robbie) Whitehead, Frank (Durinda) Whitehead and Sally (Patrick) Owens. She also leaves to mourn her passing grandchildren, John, Sam and Zachary Whitehead, Lauren DePaola, Man Phaksonit, Mew Phaksonit-Baker, Kevin Ross, Sean Owens and Sara Barclay. Her Great Grandchildren Gavin and Mason DePaola, Jaiden and Giovanni Ross, Connor and Camryn Owens, James Barclay iii and Blakelee Barclay and Great-Great Grandson Ryder Baker.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:30 at the Kraeer - Fairchild Funeral Home, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Final prayers will take place at 1:15 at Lauderdale Memorial Park, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale.

In keeping with Broward County Department of Health Regulations, all guests are required to wear a mask or facial covering.
