Francesco Benedetto Modica

Francesco Benedetto Modica, age 85, went home to be with the Lord and those who have gone before him when he passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021. At the time of his passing, he was in the hearts of those he loved the most.

Francesco loved his Italian Heritage and food and especially enjoyed dining out at GG's of New York. Family was the center focus of his life, but his grandchildren brought great joy into his life. In his spare time Francesco loved to go fishing, watch western movies and Italian Soccer especially while enjoying a good cigar.

Francesco is survived by his children, Vincent Modica, Patricia Modica and Rosanna and Vincent Ferrara; his grandchildren, Nicole and Oleg Gnip, Mario and Ashley Lemite, Vincent Modica Jr., Frankie Ferrara, and Nicholas Ferrara; his great grandchildren, Giuliana, Gabriella, Marley-Lynn and Natalie. He was predeceased by his wife Anna Maria Modica in 2015 and his daughter Virginia Modica in 2017.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 6:00 - 9:00 at the Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Francesco's funeral service will commence on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Noon at St. Coleman Catholic Church, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.

In keeping with Broward County Regulations, social distancing and facial covers or masks are required to be worn by all guests.
