Frank loved and valued life for all of his 85 years.
Born and raised in East Camden, NJ, he was the son of Antoinette (Nettie, née Iacovone) and Vito (Bill) Dellacquila. He loved his parents deeply. He enjoyed his life growing up in Camden with many friends and family. Frank was a natural athlete and excelled at all sports. He was a proud graduate of Camden Catholic High School. Throughout his life, he would reminisce with his life long best friend Duke and would end by saying “I’ll see you back in Camden”.
Frank was the consummate sales leader and always an optimistic thinker. He began his sales career at Luzianne Coffee, with stints at American Greetings and Jergens Skincare eventually landing at Clairol/Bristol-Meyer where he excelled and was highly respected. Frank loved working for Clairol and made significant contributions to its growth in his 25 plus year career there.
Frank was larger than life. People were always drawn to him and he loved that! His life revolved around family and friends, eating great food, having a delicious glass of wine, dancing or sitting at the beach having lively conversation in Margate or Lauderdale-by the Sea. He idolized Frank Sinatra, and his children, Ava and Rick, have many memories of Frank Sinatra filling the house every Friday night via Sid Mark’s, “Friday with Frank”. It became Frank’s tradition.
He was extremely proud of his Italian heritage. He loved traveling to Italy, and fell in love with Sicily. He had a great respect for Italian culture and tradition.
Frank ate, slept and drank sports! He was a rabid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Eagles. Frank attended the 1980 Championship win against Dallas in the frigid single degree temperatures and 30 MPH winds. He loved his Eagles!!!!
As a father, Frank was very involved in Ava and Rick’s life, always instilling life skills, discipline and the rewards of hard work. He stressed responsibility, and being kind and respectful to the elderly and the poor.
Frank is survived by, his daughter Ava Miller and her husband David, his son Rick, his grandson Marc Miller, the mother of his children, Shirley, and his best friend Duke D’Alessandro.
Frank will be greatly missed by his family and the many, many friends he held so dear who made him love life so much! On behalf of his children, we thank everyone for making Frank’s life so rich.
A celebration of life will be coordinated for friends and family once it is safe for us to gather and celebrate.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
It can be a great comfort to a grieving person or family to hear that others thought highly of their loved one, too. If you knew and admired Frank, be sure to let the family know by writing a few words in the "Memory" section of their obituary on the Kraeer - Fairchild Funeral Home website. www.KraeerFairchild.com
