

Dr. Frederick Leon Bloom, 65 of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away December 9, 2016. He was born on March 18th, 1951, in Miami, Florida. Frederick Leon Bloom graduated from Miami Central High School matriculating to Howard University, and later, to the University of Miami where he earned his Doctorate in Medicine. He met and married Barbara Bloom on March 13, 1986. Dr. Bloom was a neonatologist whose career spanned over thirty years, primarily at North Shore Medical Center, where he worked tirelessly to help develop its Level III neonatal intensive care unit.
He was an active member of The Bridge Church and had a passion for football, biking, computers, and was a salt-water aquarium enthusiast. He is survived by his wife: Barbara Bloom, his sons: Frederick-Charles Courtney Bloom, Gregory Stoessel and his daughter: Heather Stoessel Angry, siblings: Michael Alvin, Aaron Alvin, Jeffrey Bloom and Pam Alvin, grandchildren: Gregory Jarrel, Zanea, Lauryn, Jada and Damian.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 12, 2016 from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm at The Bridge Church located at 9300 Pembroke Road, Miramar, Florida 33025.
Interment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens located at 2401 Davie Rd. Davie, Florida 33317.
Reception will be held following the interment at The Bridge Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens South in Davie, Florida.
