Visitation will be at 1:00pm Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm immediately following visitation in the same location with Pastor Chet officiating.
An optional attendance of the committal/entombment service will follow from 3:00pm to 3:30pm onsite.
Arrangements are by Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
Geraldine Daugherty was born in Atlantic City, NJ to Harry Raff and Carrie Raff on March 5, 1934. She was raised and graduated school in Cape May Courthouse, NJ.
She married Edmond J. Daugherty II on January 11, 1954 in Atlantic City, NJ. After having 2 of her 3 children, they moved to South Florida in 1964 where she continued as a full-time housewife. After her 3rd child was grown, she became employed by the Broward Sheriff’s Office in Fort Lauderdale, FL and enjoyed 20 years of service as a Community Service Aide. She took great pride in her position, being stationed at Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale International Airport and the Broward County Public Safety/Corporate and Sheriff Headquarters. Upon retirement in 2010, she loved getting together with a regular group of friends for breakfast, ballroom dancing, playing rummikub, going to the pool and spending time with family.
Geraldine is preceded in death by mother Carrie Raff, father Harry Raff, brothers Edward Raff, Arthur Raff and Robert Raff, and husband Edmond J. Daugherty II.
Geraldine is survived by her son Edmond J. Daugherty III (Renee Daugherty), daughter Sharon K. Daugherty and daughter Stacy L. Daugherty (Charles Eissa), brother Charles B. Raff (Susan Raff), grandson Edmond J. Daugherty IV (Akiko Daugherty), granddaughter Courtney Clara Freeman-Daugherty, and great grandchildren Ita Jun, Karis Ju, Edmond Jones V, Esther Jina and Aspen Elysia.
