Gisele Sada King, 89, of Pembroke Pines, passed away June 20, 2018. “Deeda”, as she was affectionately called, was a loving wife and mother who was proud to be a homemaker, a meticulous seamstress, and a creative crafter. She also loved crocheting, creating afghans for just about everyone she loved. She donated many of them to children’s homes and homeless shelters. She found great joy in crocheting dozens of scarves for those serving in the military.
Gisele was also fabulous cook. Family favorites were Lebanese and Haitian meals, old-fashioned peanut butter cookies, pineapple upside-down cake, and spiced pecans at Christmastime.
Gisele was born of Lebanese parents, John and Marguerite Sada, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. At age 20, she emigrated to Brooklyn, NY and became a designer in the Manhattan garment district. There, she
met the love of her life, a US airman on leave, who was visiting her cousin. They married in 1954. She proudly became a US citizen the following year.
Gisele is survived by her husband, Raymond, Jr., daughter, Jennifer Forshey, son, Raymond III, her fiercely protective Chihuahua, Pebbles, and many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by all her seven siblings: Micheline Boulos, Juliette Sada, Layla Talamas, Olga Leger, Roger Sada, Boulos Sada, and Edna Puggioni.
Visitation is on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Forest Lawn South, 2401 Davie Road, Davie, Florida 33317 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 701 N. Hiatus Road, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33026.
