It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grace Mazzurco, who peacefully left us at the age of 91 on March 8, 2025. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Grace was a woman whose warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on May 27, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio, Grace was the cherished daughter of Vito Carone and Mary Cisterino. She married the love of her life, Anthony, on September 7, 1953, and together they shared a life full of love, laughter, and a deep commitment to their family. As a mother of seven children, she embodied selflessness and strength, nurturing and guiding her children with compassion and care.
Throughout her life, Grace enjoyed the simple joys of family gatherings, home-cooked meals, and quiet moments of reflection. Her devotion to her family was evident in everything she did. She was a constant source of support and encouragement to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, leaving a legacy of love and tradition that will continue to shape generations to come.
Grace was known for her unwavering faith, her joyful spirit, and her remarkable ability to make others feel welcome and loved. Whether through her thoughtful advice, infectious laughter, or her warm embrace, she made a lasting impact on the many people fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her role as a loving mother and wife, Grace also found time to play tennis which she loved to do in her younger days. She also loved to travel especially to Italy. Grace and Tony made the trip over twenty times and loved everyone of them.
A devout Catholic, Grace was a cherished parishioner of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. Grace is survived by her six children, Mark Mazzurco (Gloria), Christine Jordan (Jim), Mike Mazzurco, John Mazzurco, Nick Mazzurco, and Anne Mazzurco. She was a proud grandmother to Mark Mazzurco, Jr., Peter Mazzurco, Jimmy Jordan, Tina Jordan, Michelle Mazzurco, Christina Mazzurco, Angela Mazzurco, Travis Gearing, and Natalie Mazzurco. She was a proud great grandmother to Lily Bruening, Dominic Bruening, Harper MacLean and Finn MacLean. Grace was preceded in death by her father Vito Michael Carone, her mother Mary (Cisterino) Carone, her brother Michael Carone, her sister Louise (Carone) Watkins, her son, Anthony Mazzurco, Jr., and granddaughter, Jamie Portell.
Grace’s love for her family, her deep faith, and her boundless generosity will be missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace, reunited with those who have gone before her, and forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
