Granville was born in Kingston, Jamaica on July 30, 1935 to Dewett Henry and Louise Dickson. He was involved in numerous community development and international affairs programs in Jamaica. He helped people to learn a business trade to work for themselves. He also worked as a professor in Jamaica and in Florida.
Granville loved to watch the same classic movies over and over and his favorite singer was Frank Sinatra. He would often play Sinatra's music around the home.
He was remembered for taking the family on multiple long road trips across Jamaica and from Florida to Canada to visit family and friends. Somehow he managed to do all of the driving.
Granville would treat all who met him with kindness no matter what. He was a wonderful father, husband, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by his wife Shirley, his children (Granville Jr, Karen, Natalie, Nicola, Deirdre and Gregory), his remaining sibling Donald, his eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren as well as numerous cousins and friends.
The family of Granville Dickson wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all for the many calls, messages, visits and prayers during this time of bereavement.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.forestlawnsouth.com for the Dickson family.
