Henry Anthony Lucente was born on August 24th, 1946 in Miami, Florida. It was here in South Florida where he met the love of his life, Candice, in 1969. Henry and Candice married after dating for just a year and a half. They were happily married for over 49 years.
During that time, they had three children, Brian, Wendy, and Tommy. Wendy and Brian went on to give them four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Mia, and Brianna. Henry loved his wife, children and grandchildren with all his heart. He loved doing any and everything for them, including cooking nearly all of their meals. Henry loved to cook. He was the one of the best (and quickest) chefs any of us had ever seen. He also loved driving his grandchildren anywhere and everywhere, a personal chef and chauffeur for the entire family.
Henry spent his entire career at Bellsouth, working in his field for 35 years. He was one of the hardest workers you’d find, rarely taking a day off and never going in late. Henry spent his free time quite leisurely. He enjoyed vacationing with his family and always looked forward to their yearly trip to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Henry also loved taking cruises with his family and friends, often showing a looser side of himself rarely seen on land. We will never forget the time this often shy man did a full Elvis impersonation and dance.
Henry loved the holidays, mostly because it meant more quality time with his beloved family. It was so obvious to anyone who ever met him, his wife and family were his only priorities. That, and professional wrestling. Henry loved professional wrestling dearly, an avid fan for nearly his entire life. He also loved watching his favorite football team, the Florida Gators, play on Saturdays.
Henry also loved being thrifty, spending hours upon hours searching for the ultimate deal. Henry had a dry sense of humor, and when it was revealed, he could make us all laugh with his wild opinions. Henry was one of the most brutally honest and straightforward people to ever walk this earth. What you saw was what you got, he wore his heart on his sleeve and pulled no punches. That being said, he was also one of the kindest and gentlest people you’d ever meet. If he loved you, you felt it. Truly.
Henry will be dearly missed by his wife, family and friends. His unique, beautiful, and loving soul will live on in our hearts and memories. We love you Dad. We love you PaPa. We love you Henry.
Love,
Candy, Brian, Wendy, Cleary, Tommy, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Brianna, and Mia.
