Hubert Agustas Simpson, affectionately called Keith, was introduced to the world on Friday, May 20th, 1938. He was born to Lillian and Canute Simpson in the town of Beckford Kraal, Clarendon, Jamaica. He was the sixth (6) of 13 children.
He moved to Kingston and then met Viviene James in 1958 and they later got married on December 18th, 1965. The union produced three children Sonia, Ann-Marie (deceased), and Courtney. He worked as a shoemaker at Hannah Footwear Factory for many years.
The Simpson Family migrated to the United States in October 1980. Keith worked in the meat industry for over ten (10) then joined the International Longshoreman Association (ILA). He retired as a Longshoreman in 2010 after twenty (20) years of service. Keith was a respected provider who enjoyed family times.
Keith was a dedicated family member; passionate cook; award winning domino champ; and an avid word searcher who loved to entertain until he went for eternal rest. A caring friend and co-worker always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Keith went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023. He is predeceased by his parents; Grandson (Christopher); daughter (Annie); nephew (Guy); and 7 siblings. Left to mourn his death are wife (Viviene); 5 siblings (Dorothy, Carvell, Teddy, Tesmond & Glen); children (Courtney & Sonia); numerous nieces & nephews; countless cousins; and many friends.
Keith’s generous spirit has left an indelible mark on our hearts and will be with us forever and we have been blessed to have had you as a part of our lives.
There is something God has given us that is more than family and that is “The Gift of Love.” This gift is elaborated in 1 Corinthians 13:13. Keith took that Love and spread it throughout our family tree. He touched every branch and leaf of our tree. Our hearts are broken, but he didn’t go alone, as part of us went with him the day God called him home. May his soul rest in peace!
