Dr. Idomo "Iddy" Cynthia Akamune, 57, of Miramar, transitioned on Monday, May 25th, 2020, in Miami, Florida. She was born in Lagos, Nigeria, to Sir Etim-Inyang IGP (rtd) and Lady Mary Etim-Inyang on October 18th, 1962. She married Dr. Ufuoma Isaac Akamune on August 8th, 1987, in Lagos, Nigeria.
In her early years, Idomo attended Ireti Primary School Ikoyi-Lagos, Holy Child College Ikoyi-Lagos, and Federal Government Girls College Kazari. After secondary school, she graduated from the University of Benin with a Bachelor's and Master's degree then served in the National Youth Service Corps, Nigeria.
Upon moving to the United States, Idomo attended Nova Southeastern University for her PharmD, where she graduated with high marks and top of her class. She then spent 26 years contributing as a hardworking pharmacist for Jackson Memorial Hospital.
From her teenage years, Idomo was a devout Christian woman of faith who engaged in several evangelical missions throughout her life. She served the Children's Ministry at World of Life and lived a life with Jesus at the forefront.
Idomo is survived by her husband, Dr. Ufuoma Isaac Akamune, children Dr. Eseoghene Inyang Akamune, O'karo Etim Akamune, and Mary-Dora Akamune, along with her siblings Inyang Etim Inyang, Ekaette Amanda Angell, Etim Okon Inyang Jr., and Edim Etim Inyang, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Mrs. Akamune wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Akamune and Etim-Inyang families, brothers and sisters in Christ, friends, the Pharmacy Department at Jackson Memorial Hospital, doctors, nurses, and staff of Jackson Memorial Hospital, and the pastors and members of Words of Life Church, among others.
Idomo is preceded in death by her father, Sir Etim Okon Inyang, and her mother, Lady Mary Etim-Inyang, Edet-Robin.
She will live in the hearts of her friends and family.
