James C. Chowattukunnel

James was born on April 13, 1948, in Kottayam, India, to Chacko and Mariam Chowattukunnel. He grew up in Teekoy, India. James graduated from St. Thomas College in Pallai, India. He married his beloved wife, Gracy, on May 6, 1979. James and Gracy have two sons: Jaison, born in 1981, and Justin, born in 1984.

In 1980, James immigrated to the United States and settled in Albany, New York, where he and his family lived for 12 years. They later moved to Hollywood, Florida, in 1992, where they remained for the rest of his life.

James brought joy, strength, and a spirited presence to everyone he met. He was known for his warm smile, his cheerful high-fives, and his deep love for his family and friends.

He had a deep appreciation for nature and especially enjoyed growing plants and tending to his crops. He also loved learning about animals, watching sports, and spending treasured time with his grandchildren.

A Committal Service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2401 Davie Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317, US, on August 8, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm, with a live stream available at https://homegoingmemories.com.

James will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him
