On Saturday, May  12, 2012, at high tide, in accordance with Jimmy's wishes, the family all gathered in Wilmington, N.C. to bury him at sea.  We chartered a pontoon boat to carry us past the sea wall to scatter his ashes in the ocean.   After a 30 minute boat trip, we passed the sea wall separating the sound from the ocean.  Several of Jimmy's nieces and nephews read a poem found in Jimmy's possession when he passed â€“ Mary Frye's, Do not Stand At My Grave, followed by Ecclesiastes 3:1 â€“ 15 and concluding with Tennyson's Crossing the Bar.  After the readings, Mario & Carter put Jimmy into the sea.  We all said our personal prayers and goodbyes as we tossed red & white carnations into the water after him.
The Nugara, Clawson, Tarney, Gani, and Micko families would like to thank all of you for your prayers, and kind thoughts and being a part of Jimmy's life.

Nothing but a smile comes to mind when I think of Jim.  I can remember our time on the Tech Ops Council and our bouts as allies in attempt to get our points across.  One word I remember Jim used quite often was “truly”.  My heart goes out to Jim's family as he will truly be missed.

My kind thoughts and prayers go out to Jim's family at this difficult time.  I worked many a night shift with Jim on the L1011's.  He always brought laughter and a smile to all of us.  God be with you.

I'm going to miss you Jim. I'm grateful I was able to reconnect with him recently. Many years of laughter and fun.Still laugh when I think of "neckbone"

I had the pleasure of serving on the Employee Council with Jim for several years. We had our differences but always parted as friends. I learned a lot from him, not the least of which was the ability to disagree and remain professional as well as friends. We had not been in contact for a while and I hate that. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace my Delta brother.

What I remember most about Jim was from the Council days when he would sit and actually listen to what was said.  Then he would share his knowledge and insight, which would make you stop and think to consider others views.  Those who knew him longer than I did are that much richer for it.

Jim was so much fun to be around.  I enjoyed every minute I spent with him on the Tech Ops Council.  His sense of humor was one of a kind, and always made my day.  We've lost a good man and a good friend.  May God bless Jim and the Nugara family.

Dear Mario and Family,

I am so sorry. Please know my thoughts are with you.

I regret losing touch with Jim the past few years, but will carry many good memories of him for the remainder of my life.  He always showed a special kind of wisdom, and was willing to share his knowledge with others like me.  Thanks to the Nugara family for sharing with the rest of us.

I heard that Sporrt had passed through a text message.  I got out a box of old pictures and hoped to find that elusive past picture that I thought I might have.  I didn't find anything worthy of posting but I remembered that he avoided being photographed even in our school yearbook, although it is noted that he aspired to be a "brain surgeon."  He had a great sense of humor.  There are a lot of good memories from those days.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family for the loss of this wonderful man.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and friends. The brief time I knew him I could tell he was a great family man.  May he was rest in peace.

Jim was a great friend of my older brother David who lost his life in 1981. My brother was the popular one in our family and had lots of friends. Sport was cool and fun to hang with. I am deeply saddened hearing of his passing. God bless Jim and the Nugara family.

Jimmy, there is a hole in our family now that cannot be filled.  You were not supposed to pass first.  You are the youngest.  I think back on all the times we have had together.  Remembering when we were very young and you and Mario calling me from  your bedroom when we were in bed.  I would sneak in and crawl into Mario's bed with the two of you.  We would fall asleep like that.  We all love each other so much.  I will hold close all the memories of you and remember all the stories.  Brown eggs are not chocolate.  My little brother you will be missed by many.  I pray you are at peace now.  I love you.

 RIP Uncle Jimmy. So many memories from the past 33 years. I remeber as a child getting so excited when we found out that my uncle Jimmy and Mario were coming to visit. I remember going to swim camp when I was in high school in FL and he came to pick me up on the weekend to hang out on his boat.I remember him coming to my wedding and playing with Carter. Most recently I remember him eating dinner with me,Ben, Carter and my Dad, helping me prepare Christmas dinner, him playing Candyland with Carter and Pap and giving him the last hug I ever will on Monday Jan. 2nd in my grandparents driveway. We love you Uncle Jimmy may you rest in peace.

Jimmy my little brother I'll miss you.  Beloved son, brother, uncle, may you rest in peace.  You were taken too young, I'm so sorry your life was cut short.  Jimmy's heart was huge.  He was a veteran in the navy.  I cherish the memories of us growing up together.  We had so much fun, Karen, Mary,  Jimmy and me.  

To the people that posted thank you for sharing your memories of Jim.  I really appreciate your thoughts.

I wish I had gotten to visit with you one last time, tell you how much we love you.  We'll all miss you a lot, Uncle Jimmy.  Even if you liked Helen the best.  ;-)  I hope that you have found peace.

Two of the best memories I carry with me from my uncle Jimmy was from a trip my family took to GA. He drove me to the museum because like him I am the youngest. On the way there he snuck snickers to me for he knew like him, I loved candy. The second best memory is from when our family went to myrtle beach. Uncle Jim left and came back to the house with 2 motorcycles. I was in Aw and floored of how awesome they were gonna be. We got to ride them for several days and had a blast. You see the commonality between these two stories was our family all being together and I can truly say those are my most most cherished memories. I am saddened to say that our family gatherings will not be complete without him, our memories will be void from his presence, and our hearts will ache from his passing.

He was my baby brother.  May he RIP. There are no more demons to torture him, he is in a better place. I am so glad he spent the holiday with us and we have pictures for his great nephews Carter, Riley and Dominic to know they had this loving Uncle.

My fondest memory is the day we went to lunch on Jim's new boat and met a blind guy at the restaurant. By the end of the afternoon, Jim let the blind guy "drive" the boat (with Helen & I on either side of him)! What great laughs he gave us and now he's making the angels laugh. We'll miss you Jim.

My loving cousin, he was like a brother to me. My family and I will miss him so much. I hope we can all take solice in the fact that Jimmy lived a full and happy life, unfortunately it was cut short. The value of life is to love and be loved and Jimmy's cup runneth over. I'll miss you cuz, we all will. I love you cuz as we all do. I'll see you on the other side.

Jim, was like a brother to me. A true friend. I knew he always had my back. I will miss him greatly. May the "monster" RIP.

I will never forget our epic adventure,
"Lost in Newark". We laughed until we cried.

Jim was on my heart a lot the past few weeks. I have a large void in my heart now. He was always for "us". Always wanting it to be better for "us". I knew HE ALWAYS HAD MY BACK!! I am so saddened.
He was a brother. Yes "the Monster" will be missed. :-(

I can't remember Jim without remembering the laughter that he brought to our group. You will be missed.

We sure had some great times in FLL and the "Monster" was in the middle of it. He was one of a kind and will be missed.
