Raised in the scenic farmland of southern Canada Jay Louise came to Florida in 1984 and made it her home and source of inspiration ever since. Jay Louise was born in Windsor Canada and died in her 69th year in Fort Lauderdale after a brief illness. She was beloved by 6 siblings, 16 treasured nieces and nephews, and 22 great nieces and nephews.
Over the course of her life Jay was a journalist, writer and newspaper editor. After moving to Florida she became an accomplished faux finisher of all manner of things seaworthy and otherwise. She built a successful business, JLOFaux Works which thrived and became well established as a result of her outstanding artistry. Her reputation as a craftsman was unparalleled. Her creativity can be seen in every project she undertook including her writing and her many collections of art and natural beauty which she accumulated over many years of travel and study. Her friends everywhere recognized her extraordinary skills and interests: she was an accomplished cook, a passionate gardener and loved establishing orchids in her gardens. And she loved nothing more than a really good cup of coffee.
Growing up on a farm in rural Canada, Jay became an animal lover and had several dogs over the course of her life whom she adored and cared for with great tenderness and love. Everyone knew her passion for her dogs. Friends who wish to remember her are encouraged to make a gift to any animal rescue or adoption center in her name.
She is in the stars now among the mysteries and eternal beauty of the universe. Her star will always shine in the hearts of those who loved and treasured her. May she rest in peace and shine her light on all of us forever.
