Jean you’re missed and remembered daily, always sharing one of her childhood memories with me and Kim. I felt like I met her mom because of the frequency she spoke about her. Your memories remain in our hearts.

You will be surely missed, you always had a smile on your face and was always ready for the road. Family chef -Anything you cooked was on point, looked forward to Christmas dinner with your gungo rice and peas and roast  pork. Family cleaner - if something needed to be cleaned or a stubborn stain Ms. Jean was ready to attack. My personal seamstress “I can hem it just a little bit.”
Always ready for dollar store and  looking for a plastic container.
Your love for TC  was unmatched who would have thought that you could love a dog so much. 
I will miss you saying “Oh my”.

My heart is saddened to say goodbye to Jean, my neighbor for  four years while living at The Radison .  It was always a joy to leave out in the mornings and wave goodbye to Jean who was always around to make sure the gardener was doing things right on the property.  The thing I admired most was her honesty and straightforwardness. You can always depend on her to tell you the truth, not in an offensive way, but if something nah do right she a tell you.  I reminisce about friday nights at the house playing dominoes with Kev and them and Jean was always around.  My deepest sympathies to Kim, Suzi, Ali and the rest of the family at this difficult time. I share in your sadness. Just know she is gone to be with her beloved son, Kevin. Her memory will forever be in our hearts. I miss you Jean!

Jean always had a smile and something to laugh about whenever we meet. Even if she was upset about somethings she would finish off with a laugh.

Ohh Jean, where do I start? You were there for us when we needed you the most. You were more than a grandmother to Milan when she was a baby, when Kim and I were simply clueless, so for that there are no words to thank you enough. You have helped to shape Mini into who she is today. You have been Kim’s rock in life and I’m so happy she had the chance to say goodbye. It’s going to be hard for all of us but I think we are all at peace knowing you are no longer hurting.

There are so many funny stories that I could tell about Jean but the one that stands out the most in my head that is priceless is when Patrick came to fix the sprinkler. Jean saw him then ran to the window shouting Murda! Murda! Murda! All the neighbours came to her rescue including a police that lived next door. Poor Patrick lol
Jean we will miss you . Rest up my mother-in-law. Love you always!

Jean was a gentle soul who loved and cared deeply about her family....she was a loving grandmother to Milan and mother to Kim. She is irreplaceable and she will be greately missed....RIP

To my gongie, I will never forget all of the memories that we made together. From changing my diapers to swimming with me at the beach. I am so glad that I got the opportunity to create such a close, unbreakable, relationship with her and I am beyond grateful for everything she has done for me. She was the most kind, humble, and warm-hearted soul that anyone would have ever met and no doubt she was the best grandmother that I could have ever asked for.  I am very grateful for the beautiful chance to see her and talk to her for the last time and it made me realize that she was the strongest woman that I had ever met. She faught long and hard her whole life and she never gave up on any challenge. I loved her so much and I am going to miss her even more. Thank you for being such an amazing person in my life and I am looking forward to the day that we will all wake up in the promised paradise where pain, fear, death, etc, will be no more. Have a great rest Gongie and I love you so much. 😘❤

I met Jean on my first day of high school and never looked back. She shared her home, meals and family with me.We have spent many family milestones together, many trips and many night outs to say the least. She was a very simple lady who loved her gardening and her grandkids. She had so many life experiences to share and our favorite was her memories of Gong - and from that we began calling her Gongie. Her stories were always colorful and entertaining even if it was a sad tale she was sharing. I spent my teenage years with The Mattis’ they became like family to me. 

Although it is heartbreaking, this time has caused me to pause and reflect on life; to accept that it is fleeting and there is indeed some finality to life here on earth. We will hold your memories close to our heart until we meet again - Kim & I will be here feeling for something “nice” 😊 until then.

Jean, our friendship has spanned  many years. I met you when you were pregnant with Kimeka and we just clicked. After that first meeting we were no longer strangers.
I was your official driver as we would go to every sea food buffet in the city .
You introduced me to home cooked Chinese food as prior my exposure was to sweet and sour pork and fried rice. You were a master chef and baker.  The best bun and Christmas cake. I learnt a lot from you my friend, and even when you hung up your apron we used to reminisce about the good old days.
I miss you my friend , I love you and you will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest well Jean , until I see you ❤️❤️


Kimmie, Luke, Milan and family,  I am truly sorry for your loss. Jeannie was such a beautiful spirit that walked this earth; I am honored to have met her.  In this time of mourning may God's words bring you comfort.
