Jeanette went to the welcoming presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 12:41 AM Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019. She spent her last days at Memorial West Hospital in Pembroke Pines, Florida where a 2 ½ year challenge with cancer (multiple myeloma) was finally ended.
Although Jeanette was a software consultant and owner of KeySet Solutions, Inc. for over eighteen years, she would be the first to tell you that being a consultant was not who she was. It was a means to an end, and that end was to be a blessing to her family. The success that God very abundantly gave to her as a consultant she gave to selflessly provide for her family including her cousin Diane and for many years her daughter, Christine, and grandchildren, Justin and Angelina. So fervent was her love for her family that Jeanette worked right up to the very time she was admitted to the emergency room at the hospital where she spent the last 7 weeks of her precious life.
One of Jeanette’s passions was preparing wonderful meals for her family to celebrate them, a holiday, or just to be together. She always wanted to include everyone in our gatherings. But much more than that, she had a deep desire to meet the needs of each and every one of her family members and had a painful struggle as she never felt equipped to give her family the love that was in her heart as she saw their needs and challenges.
Jeanette was survived by her daughter, Christine Buck with her two children: Justin and Angelina Buck; her son, Jason Mehler with his wife Larissa and children: Jonathan, Cadence and Luke; and her son Matthew Mehler with his girlfriend Adriana Pascual.
She is also survived by her brothers: James Keys, Dan Keys and Jorge Tavarez, and Tom Keys; her step-mother, Rosalie Keys, and her children: John and Terri Field with their children: Heather, Andrew, Kenny, and Nikki; Paul and Carol Field with their daughter, Caitlin; and Bob and Karen Field. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Keys and her father James Keys.
Jeanette was my (Diane Calabrese) dearest cousin and friend. She was a mother, daughter, and sister to me, and filled all of these roles with all of her heart, and a devotion that will amaze me for as long as I survive her.
We all love you so very much, our darling Jeanette. Thank you for the comfort and sweetness that you gave to each one of us. Thank you for the message and witness you gave not only by your words, but by your life, of the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the sacrifice He made on Calvary. May all your loved ones make a decision to receive His gracious gift, and give Him their lives for His purpose as you gave yours. We will miss you, Jeanette, but we give you into the hands of our Heavenly Father and place our trust in His wisdom, faithfulness, and goodness to us even in your passing.
