Joan Patricia Caiazzo

Joan Patricia Caiazzo (née Box) passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 73. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 22, 1953, to Thomas and Jeanne Box, Joan grew up in Guttenberg, New Jersey, before moving down to South Florida in 1978, where she would build the life she cherished for decades to come.

Joan spent over 30 years in Construction Management at Port Everglades, a career she was proud of and from which she happily retired. She approached her work, as she did everything, with dedication and heart.

But above all else, Joan treasured her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Caiazzo, her partner of 44 years, and a devoted mother to her sons, Peter and Christopher Caiazzo. She was the proudest grandmother to Camila and Luca, who were the light of her life. Joan was also a devoted older sister to her younger brother, William Box, who held a cherished place in her heart throughout her life.

Although an amazing friend to so many, Joan shared a rare and lasting bond with her lifelong best friend, Penny Catton, a friendship that began in the third grade and endured across a lifetime. It was Penny who first introduced Joan to Frank, giving her a hand in the love story that would shape the rest of Joan's life.

A devout Catholic, Joan's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her with quiet strength and grace. Deeply in tune with her body, mind, and spirit, she lived with intention and purpose. She will be remembered for the warmth she gave, the family she adored, and the steadfast faith that carried her through life.

Now at peace and reunited with Frank and those who went before her, Joan leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and a circle of people whose lives were made brighter by her presence. Though she is gone, the love she gave will remain with all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Davie Road, Davie, FL 33317, on August 22, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
