A friend of over 30 years, I will forever treasure the memory of Christmas 2002 spent with John and Dennis. Though few photos exist of our time together, I cherish a simple snapshot from that day — capturing their warm, smiling faces and a single candle glowing in the kitchen window.

John’s journey was defined by high standards and even higher spirits. Our friendship began in the mid-90s shortly after he and Dennis opened their Provincetown inn - a serendipitous 'pin drop' in a Boston phone book that forever changed my life.  

He was a devoted patron of the arts who championed excellence in theatre and had little time for the mediocre. 

An exceptional cook and host, John’s '5:00 PM sharp' cocktail hour was a cherished tradition for friends and newcomers alike

He found great joy in his Mercedes convertible - though he famously never let me behind the wheel, and in the thrill of a shopping 'find,' even if the treasures (like one particularly oversized chair) challenged the laws of vehicle capacity. 

He was a man of impeccable style who lived life on his own terms.

I’m going to miss John more than words can say. On the harder days, I’ll find comfort in the treasure trove of wonderful memories we all made together.
