

Joscelyn Jasper Pratt, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the University Hospital and Medical Center located in Tamarac, Florida with his loving wife and family by his side. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, he also resided in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Milton, Mass, Woodbridge, NJ, and ultimately retired in Tamarac, Fl. He was a proud member of the Community Christian Church in Tamarac Florida. The son of Ivy Dwyer, he is predeceased by his father Ezikiah Pratt and brother Trevor Pratt.
Joscelyn was a devoted father to his children and loving friend to all who knew him. His easy disposition and charismatic personality made being in his presence a true joy.
Joscelyn was a master gardener and took great joy in tending to his impressive garden. His love of flowers and plants was known by those closest to him and became his “claim to fame” among many people. He loved to golf and was also a lover of great music.
Joscelyn was a humanitarian who gave of his time and money to help those less fortunate. He had a giving heart and took pride in knowing that he helped others in any way he could.
He was employed with F.W. Woolworth in Kingston, Jamaica where he vigorously climbed the corporate ladder and was ultimately promoted to General Manager of one of the company’s largest and most prestigious store locations in Boston, Massachusetts.
After leaving F. W. Woolworth he was employed with A.C. Moore as Store Manager, which is where he ultimately retired.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years June Margaret Pratt, son Jade Pratt of Tamarac, Florida, daughter Marcia Forrester (Dennis) of Tamarac, Florida, daughter Jody-Ann Sanders (David) of Columbus, NJ, grandson Tony Forrester and granddaughters Simone Forrester, Elan Pratt and Laila Sanders.
He also leaves to mourn his loss; brothers Eugene Dwyer, Winston Dwyer, Errol Pratt, Douglas Pratt, Cecil Broomfield, Byron Broomfield and sisters Lorna Gawlik (Peter), Marilyn Juras (Emil), Joan Dwyer, Olive Dwyer, Beverly Dwyer, Sandra Pratt, Marie Elizabeth Pratt and Sister-in-laws; Norma Pratt, Marcia Pratt, Dorothy Dwyer and Linda Dwyer along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
