Joseph Patterson was born June 2, 1920 to father, Julius Patterson/Petruska and mother, Anna Patterson (Marko) in Trenton, New Jersey and preceeded in death by his wife Meta Van Riper/Patterson. He was the last of 8 children. Joseph served in the Army during WW2 from Dec, 1940 to Oct, 1945, initially as a Heavy Truck Driver and obtained the rank of Tec 5. He served in Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. Joe received the American Defense Service Medal, American Service Medal, European African and Middle Eastern Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was the loving father of 4 surviving children, Joan Louise Garcia, Richard Van Patterson, Timothy William Patterson and Brian Jay Patterson, (9) grandchildren, Tara Steadman, Alex Garcia, Samantha Patterson/Butler, Kyle Patterson, Colby Patterson, Ashley DeBolt/Patterson, Taylor DeBolt/Patterson, Christopher Patterson and Jonathan Patterson and finally (4) great grandchildren, Thomas Cox, Taryn Cox, Leland Butler, Lilian Butler. He will be missed dearly by family and friends, God Bless.
