I wish I could be there to share with Joe’s family and friends. When I retired I moved to Suwanee Georgia and don’t get to Fort Lauderdale very often. My thoughts and prayers go out to the many many friends that Joe developed over his years on marina mile. He was loved by all and the most special person I have ever met I enjoyed working for him for a very long time. Best wishes to all on the celebration of his life. Joe was an icon in the marine industry, he was a kind and very generous man.  We enjoyed many great dinners together with our wives and friends at Runway 84. My sincere condolence to Dolores, the Rubano family and my friends at RPM Diesel.

Someone so special will never be forgotten. For all you have done and given will be remembered for ever. Joe took chances on people gave them jobs and watched them succeed. He was a man who gave his heart and love through the things he did. 

Joe was still calling people on their birthday  on June 16th.

I have a  Voice mail on my phone from Joe from a couple of days before he passed away and will never be erased.   
He was a man that could always be counted on .

You will be missed but the memories you have left I hope will help your family through the tough times ahead.  

Thank you for all you have done for my family and I hope it is smooth sailing through your next journey.

A special thanks for a Dad who,
Made childhood dreams come true.
Who sang songs when he tucked me in bed,
Who let me talk to just clear my head.
Who gave me a warm hug when I was cold,
Who knows my thoughts without being told.
Who let me sleep in his big black chair,
Who was like a big cuddly Teddy Bear.
Who was not just a Dad but also a friend.
Who was strict, but knew how to bend.
Who always made Christmas the best, 
Just by wearing his special Red vest.

The Love, Understanding and even the tears.

Joe was the only person in the world I ever called “boss“ as he was my president both at the port Everglades Association and the Marina mile Association where all together I was under his watchful eye for almost 30 years. There was no kinder more loving man than Joe Rubano and I spent many many hours discussing Maritime issues with him. I spoke with him just last week and I will miss him And his wise counsel and always shiny disposition.

I had the opportunity to meet a man in  1991 that impressed me as a family man  with values passed on to his employees. 
 I had more respect for Joseph Rubano than I had for my own father, as he became a personal friend forever. 
 He will be truly missed by anyone who had any contact with him and his family.
