Judy passed away after a long illness at the age of 85. She was born in Montevallo, Alabama to William and Lillian Allen. The family moved to Fort Lauderdale during World War II as William was in the navy and stationed in South Florida. She attended Fort Lauderdale High School where she was a cheerleader for the Flying L’s and graduated with honors. She met her lifelong love and sweetheart future husband Foster Vernon Hunter there and married while in college at the University of Florida in 1952. Judy was a huge Florida Gator fan both basketball and football and never missed a game on the radio or television her Gators could do no wrong!
She also had great affection for writing poetry. Another passion of hers was searching for and collecting antiques.
She was very athletic and found her best sport to be bowling and became one of the best women bowlers in Broward County for many years.
Judy became a Grandmother at the young age of 44 and her love just meant more and more people could feel it and that passion for her Grandchildren was evident immediately as she always put them first in her life.
She loved attending their sporting events never missing a game they participated in and also attending school functions. She was an adoring caring one of a kind Grandmother.
Judy was pre-deceased by her parents and her two sons Stephen and Foster Vernon II.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Foster Vernon Hunter, her sister Marilyn Meredith, her daughter Deborah(Robert) her daughter-in –law Mindy, her Grandchildren Andrew Geismar(Sara), Daniel Geismar (Fiancee Jennifer) Amy Geismar Fisher(Cory), Michael Hunter(Megan) and Stephanie Hunter Beane(Robert) and her Great grand children Bella, Noah and Hudson Geismar, Foster, Ava, Phoenix and Adalyn Hunter and Aubree Beane.
