Kellen Francis O'Neil

Kellen was a young man who followed his passions. Chief among them was his overwhelming love of music. He was so, so happy when he was playing his guitars, either acoustic or electric, from strumming chords alone in his room to performing for a crowd. Lately, he’d been gravitating towards country sounds, but he truly loved them all, from rock and roll to jazz. He had a keen ear and could pound out a blues number on the piano without any notes or practice. Music was a part of his soul.

Another growing passion was golf. Kellen was enthralled by the game and was getting better and better at it. He spent many happy afternoons golfing with his Mom, Dad and friends. He absolutely delighted in talking about it. Two of his fondest memories were his visits with his family to the Augusta National Golf Club for the Masters in 2017 and 2018.

Kellen was a huge Gator fan and loved his Miami Dolphins and his Mom’s hometown team, the Minnesota Vikings. He would readily admit that he favored the Vikes more lately.

Kellen also took great pride in his years of work for Flanigan’s, where he forged wonderful friendships that gave him both joy and support.

Kellen is survived by his parents, Christopher and Jill O’Neil, of Lighthouse Point and by his beautiful younger sister, Lauren, whom he loved, in his parents’ words, “over the moon.” He is also survived by a legion of loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who are just too numerous to list. And by little Tebow, the family dog, who got his name from Kellen.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6:00 - 9:00 at the Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Kellen's funeral service will commence on Saturday morning, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 at Assumption Catholic Church, 2001 S. Ocean Blvd, Lauderdale by the Sea, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
