Konstantinos Kokkoris passed away November 12, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 17, 1938 to George and Maria (Lagis) Kokkoris in the mountains of Rehea (Sparta), Greece. He began life as a shepherd. He later attended school and graduated from university as an engineer. He served in the Greek Merchant Marines and later travelled the world as chief engineer on tankers and cargo vessels. He came to America, married Virginia Kokkoris (deceased). He started Echo Industrial Company, Inc.in 1969.
Kosta is survived by Dixie Nowels, his companion of 40 years, his son George Kokkoris (Los Angeles), son and daughter-in-law Alexander and Brittaney Kokkoris and granddaughter Tierney, (Coral Springs), and son Christopher Nowels (Austin, Texas). His brother John and sister Georgia reside in Sydney, Australia and Sister Panayota in Perth Australia. His brother Nick Kokkoris lives in Elia, Greece. In addition, he will be sorely missed by many nieces and nephews throughout Australia, Greece and Indiana, as well as by numerous cousins and countless friends and business associates.
Services will be at Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home, 4061 North Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Friends are invited to gather from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
Dear Kos, it breaks our hearts to let you go, but you taught us to be strong. You worked so hard for us all our lives. Now may you rest in peace.
