If anyone ever cared, really cared for someone else it would have to be Laritta Mae Hoyles. She was a warm hearted and well liked individual, and these wonderful traits came easily to her because she was such a sociable and amiable person, someone who was always making certain that those around her had whatever they needed. Laritta was a talkative person who was tactful at all times but typically said what she meant.
She was the daughter of Everett A. Shaver and Minnie J. Tarana. During her childhood she learned to be reliable and respectful. Laritta was an obedient child who wanted to win the favor of others. She found it easy to show sympathy and to perform kind acts for others. These admirable qualities would become a part of Laritta's personality throughout her life.
Though Laritta was frequently the one to initiate games and activities with her family, she was also quite often the family member who took the role of referee. Laritta was a peace-maker with an ability to resolve all sorts of family conflicts. In fact, Laritta worked conscientiously to keep those typical family spats at bay. Laritta was raised with two brothers, Larry and Everett. They cared deeply for one another.
Harmony was important to Laritta and she made every effort to maintain it with her family. Laritta was blessed with two children, Douglas John Hoyles and Cheryl Lynn Hoyles. They were also blessed with one grandson, Dylan. Laritta was always conscious of the feelings others had. She was reasonable and understanding. As a result, Laritta was quick to solve disputes and did so without much fuss. Her secret of success in this area was simple: Laritta would listen before she would act.
Her keen interest in things that affected the lives of other people led Laritta to become actively involved in professional and community organizations. Because she was outgoing, fun, and worked well with others, Laritta did her fair share of volunteer work. She wouldn’t shy away from taking the lead on committees or events, or at having her own fun either. She was a born list maker and was great at creating, playing, and sticking to schedules. Some of the fondest memories of Laretta included Bingo, as she was an avid bingo player. She loved the game so much she even named her dog Bingo! Who could forget Loretta's love of the color mauve as well. If you look around her house today, she was surrounded by mauve always.
Laritta was the kind of person who would readily move into action in order to help others. She was appreciated and respected. She could find value in the opinions of others and was passionate about her own values and beliefs. So it’s little wonder that she was active and highly valued by those in her community, serving on committees for the Homeowners Association. Laritta was a former member of the Fox Mill Garden Club in her earlier years as well.
Laritta entered into rest on February 8, 2012 at Memorial West Hospital in Pembroke Pines, Florida. She is survived by her son Douglas and her daughter Cheryl; brothers Everett and Lawrence; grandson, Dylan; and many other family, friends and loved ones who will dearly miss her. Services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home South in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Laritta will be laid to rest at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, VA.
Laritta was a fantastic conversationalist who could engage just about anyone in a discussion. And whenever she said something, she meant it. Laritta was a down to earth person, outgoing and gregarious. She was without question the type of person who enjoyed experiencing things first hand. She was practical and sensible, but what friends and family will remember her for most is the fact that she was so understanding and kind. Everyone whose life she touched will miss Laritta Mae Hoyles.
