A Life Well-Lived
Lars Gustav Irre was born December 18, 1971, in Paris, France. He led a happy life in Europe attending French schools and making deep childhood friendships before relocating first to Cobham, Surrey in England and then to Roswell, Georgia where he attended Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia. He was a long-distance runner for Lassiter high school all 4 years. He ran both track and cross country. Lars formed deep and lasting friendships in Georgia that would last a lifetime.
Academic Pursuit
After graduating from high school, Lars continued his education at Auburn University. There he joined the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and immersed himself in the study of architecture and construction. The Auburn creed and his fraternity involvement shaped much of his character and interests.
Professional Journey
Lars eventually moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he started his career in swimming pool design and sales. The sunny climate and vibrant community of Florida brought him great happiness, allowing him to pursue a lifelong fixation with swimming pools that began in childhood. Most recently, Lars accepted a new sales position, a role he considered the fulfillment of his professional dreams. It was in Florida where he met and married Mia Jonsson. They eventually parted ways.
Remembering Lars
Lars will be deeply missed by many. Family, friends from all stages of his life, and neighbors recall his steadfast friendship, courage, and gentle nature. His love for Florida was unwavering, and he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
A mother and son could not have had a better relationship. Lars and Mom talked daily to just check in with each other.
Legacy and Farewell
Now at peace with his Lord and Savior, Lars will be laid to rest at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Watertown, Wisconsin, near his loved ones in the north. His wonderful life, though ended too soon, will be remembered fondly by all whose lives he touched.
Life is short and we have never too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who are travelling the dark journey with us. Oh, be swift to love, make hast to be kind. ~Henri-Frederic Amiel~
