

She was the daughter of the Marcelino and Victoria Benitez, July 1, 1923, in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba. Leonila married Osvaldo Guerra in 1953, they lived together in Habana, Cuba, before relocating to the United States in 1966. Through good times and bad Leo and Ozzie shared 65 years of marriage.
Leo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She selflessly helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to sew and enjoyed having fresh flowers in her house. Her greatest joy was truly her family. She was an amazing cook and took great pride in making delicious meals for each of them to enjoy.
In addition to her husband, Osvaldo, Leo is survived by a devoted daughter, Angela Mastrofrancesco of Davie. She also is survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren whom their Abuela adored. Leo will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will celebrate Leonila’s life on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Davie Road, Davie, FL 33317 . Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2018 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Davie Road, Davie, FL 33317 followed by interment at 3:00 p.m.
Leo left us with many memories to cherish. The numerous holidays spent together, along with the antidotes she used that would make us laugh. Above all, she gave us unconditional love, a love that will remain in our hearts us until we are all reunited again in eternal glory with no pain or sorrow. Until then you always remain in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made if desired, in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
