Leslee Seese Hoover died peacefully June 19 surrounded by her family. Leslee was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved with her family to Fort Lauderdale in 1946. She attended St. Anthony’s and Central Catholic (St. Thomas Aquinas) High School. After graduation she entered Sisters of St. Joseph in St. Augustine and taught in schools throughout Florida and Puerto Rico for 9 years as Sister Louis Andre’ before returning to secular life.

After retirement, Les and Joe lived in Rabun Gap, GA for 20+ years where she became active in many charitable organizations and she developed a passion for quilting. Many of those who knew and loved her are left with precious pieces she handcrafted with love.

Leslee especially loved to treat family and friends to her home in the mountains. She was always welcoming. Nothing made her happier than visits from her granddaughters where they could explore, craft and make delicious treats together. Leslee leaves behind a lasting mark of kindness and charity. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend.

I remember Les from quilting retreats. She did beautiful work and was a joy to be around. We shared a love of coffee and no get together was complete without our sharing our cups of Senseo 1 cup brews. She hosted my husband and me at her home when I went to a retreat in the mountains. She was the most gracious of hostesses. I will miss her so much! I love you Leslee!

To Leslee's family;
I'm so sorry for your loss. Mary Seese Muter has been my friend since 1960. I always remember how much she adored her older sisters. They were a legend to all of Mary's friends. I wish I had known Leslee in person. I so appreciate all of her contributions to the world in her life! I will be donating to Ronald McDonald House because of her wishes and because they are a Godsend!
My condolences,
Theresa Kudo

I could write a book of memories & still not do this wonderful lady justice. We came to GA together after many years of friendship, bought our houses on the same day 6 miles apart, & spent a lot of time together. We were so happy creating quilts. She was a lovely & gracious hostess & the kindest person ever. We are grateful for the time we spent & that your pain is over. You remain in our hearts always.

My Aunt Les was truly an example of what a caring, thoughtful and selfless person looks like. A beautiful soul. She always made you feel like the most important person in the room and put everybody else before herself. When I would watch TV with her, she would purposely sit on the floor so I had extra room on the couch. Every time I visited her house in Rabun Gap, she would go shopping to buy all of the food and drinks that she heard I liked just so I would be comfortable. She would always try to sneak money into my wallet when I wasn’t looking, just because. She once sent me cases of a drink I like when she heard it was difficult to find. I always tried to say no, but she was too nice and insistent on providing for the people around her no matter the cost. It would go without saying that I loved visiting my aunt. I even proposed to my wife while staying at her home. All that being said, this was just my experience but I know that anyone who has ever spent time with her would feel the same way. I have come to learn that Les would experience joy vicariously through the happiness of others. May she always be an example to me of compassion, thoughtfulness and love. She will be forever loved and missed by many.
