

Lillian was born in Brooklyn, NY to George and Edith Herbst on July 27,1940. She graduated from Hialeah High School. She married George P Mittauer in August 1961, they were married 39 wonderful years. She was a longstanding active member of the Palm Beach County Association of the Deaf, holding the positions of board member and vice president. In addition, she was a Convention chairperson for Deaf Seniors of America, the Secretary for Dixie Deaf Bowling Association, and Vice Mother and Secretary of the Red Hat Society. When her daughters were young, Lillian enjoyed boating and camping with her family. Once she became a grandmother, she delighted in spending time and traveling with her grandchildren. She thrived on the challenge and competitiveness of playing Mahjongg and Canasta with her friends. Lillian was also a world traveler, visiting over 30 countries. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Lillian touched many lives with her love and kindness, her devotion to the deaf community, and her friends and loved ones.
Lillian is preceded in death by her beloved husband and parents.
Lillian is survived by her two daughters, their spouses, her five grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held 12pm Saturday February 11, 2023, at 525 Minutemen Causeway Cocoa Beach, FL 32931 with the Pastor Neal Hively of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, officiating. Private graveside commital, Monday February 13, 2023, at Flagler Memorial Park.
