Our Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Sister-in-Christ and Beloved Friend, Lucia Virginia Rivera Cartagena, was born on August 21, 1925, Cayey, Puerto Rico. She was her mother’s only child and father’s second child of nine brothers and sisters.
She had her first child, Margarita at the tender age of fourteen. Total of nine children, following are Violeta, Jorge Luis, Geronimo, Bernardina, Amelia, Wilfredo, Miriam and Mari Luz.
Lucia’s families consist of 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Lucia moved from Puerto Rico to Manchester, New Hampshire in 1969. Then moved to South Florida in 1975, making it her home.
A devoted Christian, she enjoyed attending Church. One of her activities she enjoyed with her friends was going to play bingo. As a past time, she enjoyed her novelas.
Lucia, petite frame was full of life, always had a radiant smile, independent most loving, positive and giving person.
She will live in our hearts forever!
