

Born on December 20, 1951 in Coral Gables, Florida, Luther was the son of late Gloria (Hardison) Gray and Ernest Reid Gray. Luther was raised and educated in Coral Gables and at the age of 10, moved to Miami and graduated from the University of Miami. On October 16, 2023 , Luther married his Life Partner Francis J. Lynch. Luther felt blessed to meet his Life Partner, Francis Lynch, with whom he spent the last 14 wonderful years. Luther’s work career started as an Administrative Assistant to State Representative Chas C. Poppy, and was the First Executive Director of the Dade County Legislative Delegation. He also held various administrative positions with the Dade County School System; as Principal of Treasure Island K-8 Center and the North Beach Elementary School. Luther in his youth took part in competitions as a Rodeo Horseback Rider and was a private pilot and competed in several National Collegiate Aviation Events. Luther learned the skills of raising cattle and was a Animal Husbandry Aficionado.
Luther is survived by his husband, Francis Lynch; his sister-in-law, Patricia Lynch; his many dear and cherished friends, Claude Collet, Jo Marshall, K.C. Luther was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Luther’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11:00 at the KRAEER – FAIRCHILD FUNERAL HOME, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. A lunch reception will follow in the Fairchild Event Room. Entombment will take place at 1:00 in Lauderdale Memorial Park, 2001 SW 4th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, 33315.
