The last time I was speaking to my mother on the phone she decided to sing a song. She was on speakerphone so my family who were around could hear her. My husband Joe remarked to me that it was a World War II era song she was singing. We all listened and enjoyed it. I was amazed she knew so many of the words. She sang the refrain at least 3 times. I did not know the name of the song and after mom died I tried looking it up without success. One morning I woke up with some more of the lyrics. The song is called “Enjoy Yourself “ sung by Guy Lombardo. I really want to share this memory song with you all because it has a good message for all of us. Here is the refrain. If you have a minute look it up on line and see the full song lyrics and listen to it.
Mom Rest In Peace. Your Heart is Gold.

“Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as a wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think”

So sad to hear of Peggy’s passing. Many warm summer memories at Webster Lake, her cheerful disposition, her laugh and Richard’s slow cooked beans. Rest in peace
