Marilyn Yvonne Smiley-Irby went to be with the Lord October 14. She was born to Thelma & Joe Smiley in Fort Lauderdale in 1935, attended First Baptist Church Fort Lauderdale and graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 1954. She attended college at Stetson University, and returned to Fort Lauderdale where she became a law stenographer. In 1975, she married Francis Cleveland "Cleve" Irby, a father of five . When First Baptist began the Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant she served many years doing make-up for the cast. She is survived by her step-children: Craig Irby, Celia Wetherington, Tom Irby, and sister, Verlie (Paul) Remillet, half-sister, Mona Smiley, and half-brother, Michael Smiley, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 21, at 1:00pm.
