I worked for Mario in the late 1980s.  I started as a 14 year old kid and worked there all through high school.  He let me sweep the carpets with a broom.  He often called me "Lightning" because I worked too slow.  I was one of the busboys that high kicked during one of his song routines Friday and Saturday nights.  Mario taught me quite a bit about hard work and the value of time.  I still use my stories from working at Mario's to this day.  Rest in Peace sir.

Camille, Mario was such a good man, as you well know. He made quite an impact in the little ol' town of Tyler that will not be forgotten. He and Dave graced us with their presents teaching us rednecks a thing or two about pizza. Two guys from Brooklyn in a little run down house right outside of Tyler.... Guess what, it became standing room only!! From there he had our hearts, and we demanded more, so after several moves he found the perfect place and his name lives on.  His quirky Yankee phrases come to mind
occasionally and I smile.  I will think of him every time I hear the "Summer Wind" blowing through these East Texas Pines. 
May Gods love give you strength through this time of sorrow and always know he is in your heart.

Mario....so many things can be said. You led a million lives and did many things. Above all, you always did it "your way". We're sad that you're not physically with us, but it isn't the end, just a new beginning. Perhaps they needed a new member of the Rat Pack. Either way, we know you'll be having a blast no matter what you're doing. We'll see you later. Love The Lanes xoxo
