Marlene Matilda Mars

Marlene M. Mars, 75, of Plantation, Florida passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018. She was born in Georgetown, Guyana on December 28, 1942 to parents Matilda and Oxley O'Dell. Marlene graduated from Bishop's Georgetown Guyana High School and earned her diploma. She then married the love of her life, Leslie, in 1970 and together they raised five children. Marlene had a passion for gardening, fishing, and cooking, in addition to a fascination with all types of wildlife. She was a very kind hearted person and was loved by anyone lucky enough to meet her. Marlene is survived by her children: Yohanne, Bryan, Roger, Regina and Cheryl, grandchildren: Yohanna, Nichola, Sean, Johathan, Arie, Zach, Eathan and Daniel, as well as many other family, friends and loved ones.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home South, in the Pyramid. The funeral service will occur immediately following the visitation from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The committal service will occur Monday, March 12, 2018 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Marlene will truly be missed.
